Leeanna teaches a fundamentals of drawing & painting course for adults, an advanced portfolio course for college bound high school students and youth classes at the Long Island Academy of Fine Art in Glen Cove and Oyster Bay, NY. Ms. Chipana also teaches an advanced drawing course at the Long Island High School of the Arts in Syosset, NY. She teaches in Oyster Bay, Syosset and Glen Cove.

Fundamentals of Drawing & PaintinG (Adults only)

The key to success with your painting is a strong foundation in the fundamentals of drawing. This adult course begins with basic form studies such as the drapery project and moves quickly onto more advanced projects such as Bargue and cast drawing. After the final drawing project students begin to learn painting techniques and methodologies. This course is ideal for both the absolute beginner and the advanced student looking to reground themselves in fundamental drawing and painting concepts.

For Long Island High School Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

Your portfolio should be well rounded and include various observational projects, figures, portraits and more. Leeanna has worked with Long Island high school students for many years and has consistently helped students create results with a strong foundation in observational drawing. She is NY State High School art teacher at Long Island's only high school for the arts. In addition she is the Youth Program Director at The Long Island Academy of Fine Art where she started Long Island's first classical art program for children. Leeanna has worked closely with college placement specialists and high school guidance counselors during her career. Call for more information.

Special Youth Program
Ages 9 - 13
Leeanna started LIAFA's Youth Program in 2008. With the idea in mind that children were capable of doing adult-level work given the right guidance, here she developed a program based on teaching kids classical drawing and painting skills. As Youth Director Leeanna will work closely with your child to ensure his or her artistic development. Children learn at different speeds so LIAFA's individual workstation environment is ideal for their development. Call for more information.
